FAQ
Why are the rankings outdated?
XD does not provide a public API for Hero Ranking data, and automated collection is restricted by the game’s anti-cheat protections.
Ranking data is collected directly from the game client. This requires a level 20 character on each server and manually reviewing each available Hero Ranking snapshot. Thus rankings are updated periodically rather than in real time.
Why can't we see the gear or slates?
This is a limitation of the json data we can access. The Hero Ranking cache files are supporting initial rank load inside the game client. To see full build details (including all item affixes), we would require an API.
Where can I find site updates, corrections, and release notes?
Site updates, corrections, and release notes are posted in the TLI Hero Rank thread on the official Torchlight: Infinite Discord server.
TLI Hero Rank updates threadHow did you get access to this data?
Torchlight: Infinite stores Hero Ranking information in its local game cache. TLI Hero Rank processes those cached ranking snapshots for publication on the site. Competitive event leaderboards are captured from the game client using screenshots and OCR, with the resulting data reviewed before publication.
How does TLI Hero Rank handle unusual leaderboard values?
TLI Hero Rank reports leaderboard data as it appears in the Torchlight: Infinite game client. Unusual results are not removed simply because they appear incorrect or may involve a bug.
Can we import or export our character?
No, but this is being explored and may be added in the future.
How can I contribute to this project?
This project is maintained by Cheato Vox. All contributions go toward site maintenance and hosting costs. Developers interested in building tools with this data can contact @CheatoVox on YouTube or Discord.
Support TLI Hero Rank on Ko-fiWhy do some hero names include a number? What do players mean by “Iris 1” or “Rehan 2”?
The numbers are a form of community shorthand. They indicate release order. For example, Erika 1 was released before Erika 3. See the chart below for a full reference.
