About TLI Hero Rank

TLI Hero Rank is a static website for browsing Torchlight: Infinite Hero Ranking data. The build data displayed on the site is retrieved from the local Torchlight: Infinite game cache, processed into static JSON files, and uploaded for public access.

FAQ

Why are the rankings outdated?

Ranking updates require a significant amount of manual work. XD does not provide a public API for this data, and automated collection is restricted by the game’s anti-cheat protections.

To update the site, a character must be leveled to 20 on each server, the Hero Ranking page must be opened in the game client, and every available ranking snapshot must be reviewed and collected manually. As a result, rankings are updated periodically rather than in real time.

How did you get access to this data?

Inside each Torchlight Infinite game directory is a Local folder that contains cache information for the Unreal Engine. Each Region has a unique account id, and each hero has cached json data. For most Steam installs, the Account identifier folders are located in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Torchlight Infinite\UE_game\Local\AccountCache\

Why can't we see the gear or slates?

This is a limitation of the json data we can access. The Hero Ranking cache files are supporting initial rank load inside the game client. To see full build details (including all item affixes), we would require an API.

Can we import or export our character?

No, but this is being explored and may be added in the future.

How can I contribute to this project?

Why do some hero names include a number? What do players mean by “Iris 1” or “Rehan 2”?

The numbers are a form of community shorthand. They indicate release order. For example, Erika 1 was released before Erika 3. See the chart below for a full reference.
